I am proud to announce that Tuesday night will be the first meeting of the Jewish Jacksonville Young Leadership Council. The council will bring together representatives from all of our community synagogues with our Federation YLD leadership to better coordinate activities and programming. We think that through planning and discussion we can offer more meaningful programming without duplicating efforts and, in turn, make each event or initiative stronger and wider-reaching. The formation of the council comes from an idea that the Boston YLD presented at the National YLD conference earlier this year. This is just one of several exciting ideas that we brought back from that conference which we are pursuing and think will make a lasting, positive impact in Jacksonville. I'll keep you posted on the council as we move forward.
