A native of Irving, Texas, Andrea graduated Harvard University with an honors degree in Social Anthropology. She lived in Israel for three years as a Rotary and Wexner scholar. Since moving to Jacksonville in 2004, Andrea has focused her time and energy on community building, volunteering extensively for non-profit organizations. She serves/has served on local boards: WJCT (PBS affiliate), River Garden's Foundation, Donna Orender's Generation W, Jewish Federation, AIPAC, Galinsky Academy and The Jacksonville Jewish Center. Andrea was recently elected international president of the JWRP (Jewish Women’s Renaissance Project), also known as 'Birthright for Moms'. In ten years, JWRP has taken over 15,000 women from 26 countries on this 'spa for the soul' transformative Israel experience. The goal is Unity without Uniformity.
A certified life coach, Andrea speaks regularly on the impact of social media on modern life and challenges of parenting in a rapidly changing world.
Andrea has been married for twenty-six years to Steven Mail of Glasgow, Scotland. The couple initially lived in Paris, France, then in England for twelve years. Their three daughters, Sabrina (19), Zoe (17) and Jasmine (15) were born in London where Andrea served as Executive Director for the British Friends of the Hebrew University.
