Celebrate Sigd

Exactly 50 days after Yom Kippur, the Ethiopian Jewish holiday, Sigd is celebrated. With the belief that Sigd happens on the date that God first revealed himself to Moses, the holiday and its rituals act as a way for Ethiopian Jewish people to renew their vows to God.  

You are invited to join our Community Shlicha Tal Mola as she hosts our first-ever Sigd celebration at the JCA on Wednesday, November 30 at 7 pm. Our Sigd celebration is free and open to the entire community. Ethiopian snacks will be served. Please visit jcajax.org to register or call (904) 730-2100 ext. 228.
